THE RELATIONSHIP AND ADVERSITIES BETWEEN THE INFORMAL CAREGIVER AND THE PATIENT

Care includes maintaining the well-being and quality of life of the dependent person, in order to contribute to the exercise of their daily activities, providing them with the greatest possible autonomy. Family caregivers, also called informal caregivers, perform their role without remuneration and are responsible for the entire care process, the construction of which is guided by several factors, such as: emotional ties, blood ties, the same housing or for satisfying the desire of the caregiver and who is cared for. Therefore, the present work aims to analyze adversities and the relationship between caregiver and person cared for, seeking to explore measures to improve this bond and protect both parties, using a problematization methodology based on the Maguerez Arc. The Maguerez arc was used, in which five stages are used: observation of reality; key points; theorizing; solution hypotheses; application to reality. To prepare the first stage, an interview was carried out with a patient with motor disabilities and her informal caregiver, residing in the city of Aparecida de Goiânia. In this first moment, their experiences were observed, asking questions ranging from their identification data to their lifestyle habits. Based on this, one can understand the problems present in this reality. Continuing the theorization, solution hypotheses were developed, capable of positively modifying the patient's habits, and finally developing the last stage of the arc with the application of these measures to the patient's reality. In this way, through evidence-based prior knowledge, it was possible to provide a better quality of life for the patient and her family caregiver.
